Fuzzy

Thought to originate on another planet, Fuzzies are diminutive humanoids who live as woodland hunter-gatherers. Playful and childlike, Fuzzies are eager to make friends, and quickly pick up new skills and technologies. Though technologically primitive, they are can manufacture sophisticated tools and are well-adapted to their traditional lifestyle; they are particularly associated with a long-handled knife called a "chopper-digger", traditionally made from wood or bone, that they use both as a weapon and as an all-purpose tool. Fuzzies are trusting and affectionate to other species, and enjoy being picked up and fussed over. Standing around 2 feet tall and covered in silky amber-coloured fur, these cuddly creatures are widely considered cute, and are sometimes adopted into families of other species. Nevertheless, Fuzzies are cunning hunters, apt survivalists, and brave fighters when need be, and some have theorized that their childlike behaviour is, at least in part, an act to attract larger creatures to protect them.

The Fuzzies first appeared in H. Beam Piper's 1962 novel Little Fuzzy, which you can read on Project Gutenberg here.

Fuzzy
Ability Score Increase: Your Charisma increases by 2 and your Dexterity or Wisdom increase by 1.
Age: Fuzzies reach maturity at around 12 years old and can live up to 70 years.
Alignment: Fuzzies tend to be trusting and kind, and value simple pleasures such as play, food, and good company. Most are Neutral Good.
Size: Most Fuzzies stand slightly under 2 feet tall. Your size is Small.
Speed: 25 ft.
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Fuzzy and Common. Most spoken Fuzzy is vocalized above the audible range of most other humanoids, with the audible component comprising only a distinctive "yeeking" sound. Additionally, Fuzzy has no native written form, though orthographies using the Common alphabet have been devised by scholars.
Keen Hearing: You have advantage on Perception checks that rely on hearing.
Fuzzy Survival Skills: You are proficient with chopper-digger and in Investigation and Survival.
Nimble: You can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than yours.
Charismatic Species: Due to their small size, soft fur, neotenous features, and playful behaviour, most other species find Fuzzies charming and cute. As an action on your turn, you can frolic, bat your eyes or perform other such adorable antics in an attempt to ingratiate yourself to another sapient creature. It must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + your Charisma bonus + your Proficiency bonus), and does so with advantage if you or your companions are fighting it. On a failed saving throw, it is charmed by you for a number of minutes equal to your Charisma modifier + your Proficiency bonus or until you or your companions do anything harmful to it. On a successful save, the target realizes or believes that you were trying to manipulate it. When the effect ends, the target's reaction depends on your actions toward it while it was charmed. This effect is derived from the Fuzzies' extraordinary cuteness rather than any innate magic, and so is not considered a magical effect. Once you use this trait, you cannot do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
Yeek Speak: Because of the high pitch at which Fuzzy is spoken, most creatures cannot understand it. When you speak Fuzzy, you can effectively communicate secretly with other Fuzzies, as most non-Fuzzies will only hear the distinctive "yeek" vocalization. Creatures with Keen Hearing and similar abilities that enhance their hearing can hear your speech, though they cannot understand it unless they also understand Fuzzy.
