Playable Species

Here you will find new playable species for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Note that these are not designed according to the new design principles apparently adopted by Wizards of the Coast for more recent 5e releases; in particular, they retain fixed ability scores and notes on typical alignment. This is simply because this is how I like to make my own characters. If you prefer not to use these elements, feel free to disregard the alignment notes (they're more like guidelines anyway) and talk to your Dungeon Master about using the alternate ability score rules introduced in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

Classic D&D Creatures

These creatures are pulled from the Monster Manual (like the Bullywug or Firenewt), older editions of D&D (like the Umpleby), or are intended as playable equivalents to more powerful monsters (like the Half-Giant or Dragon Tortle). Many of them are "monstrous" beings which are generally evil, and so may not be suitable for all campaigns. Again, and always, talk to your Dungeon Master!

Literary and Legendary Creatures

These options are pulled from public domain literature and from legends, myths, and folklore.

Oddball Stuff

This section is for orignal species, sillier stuff and pop culture-inspired species.
